1. Making a big deal out of nothing

In every relationship, there will be issues, but we need to identify the critical ones. It is OK to criticize the spouse for making poor financial decisions, but it is tiresome to constantly argue over not lowering the toilet seat.

2. Poor communication 
While maintaining emotional control is necessary, conveying those emotions is essential. If we are unable to disclose our most private thoughts with those we love, then something is wrong in the relationship. 6. Fear of loneliness 
This is one of our deepest fears and also a good excuse for some people to stay with a partner they no longer love. But not letting go of the person we cherish no more is a double-edged sword. On one hand, we are maintaining a relationship that leads to a dead-end street, while on the other hand, we are losing precious time to find a better partner.
7. Emotional abuse

Emotional abuse is any form of maltreatment that isn’t physical, such as isolation, intimidation, and manipulative behaviour. Verbal abuse like screaming, name-calling, accusing, and humiliating are examples of emotional abuse. Another manifestation of it is playing with someone’s emotions. Abuse of emotions can result in psychological issues including anxiety, sadness, and relationship issues. It decreases one’s sense of self-worth, aggravates sleep problems, puts one on edge, and raises one’s autonomic arousal level. Many people have symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), such as the need to always be on guard, a weak startle response, panic disorder, and the sensation of walking on eggshells.
